Twenty years ago… Neo discovered the Matrix.

All those late nights falling asleep in front of his computer… Running searches…

It took **a lot** of searching for Neo to eventually find Trinity and Morpheus.

Not to mention, the phone featured in the movie had ZERO internet connectivity and a tiny monochrome screen.

So he was forced to use his desktop at home. Well into the night…

Just 10 years later, he could have searched using a smartphone.

But if he was on a smartphone, it would’ve been so easy to just infinitely scroll Facebook and 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.

That’s what most people are doing these days. 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬.

Which is why advertising to them is getting 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿.

The fact is, people are on Facebook to procrastinate.

They’re hypnotized by infinite scrolling. And anybody in that state is gonna be hard to reach to get your message across.

Which is why your 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.

And I bet if Neo had been sent a smartphone with Facebook by Morpheus, instead of the old Nokia… he’d still be working in his cubicle and just endlessly scrolling on his lunch break.

(Depressing thought, I know)

But here’s the thing… If he had Facebook, 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱’𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲.

If he was fed up of all those lonely nights at his computer, he could’ve just gone onto YouTube & typed in, “What is the Matrix?”

Suddenly he’s seeing tons of videos telling him *exactly* what the matrix is.

See, people going onto YouTube are actually 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚.

They’re 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 for something.

In Neo’s case, it’s The Matrix.

But your ideal customers are out there, searching for information on how to do the thing that your product or service offers.

When they’re on Facebook (the “blue pill”), they’re bored, procrastinating and 𝘂𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.
