How to Target YouTube Ads that Convert

Is it easier to catch a fish with a spear or a net?

How about 20 fish? 50, 100?

Exact same principle applies when you’re running YouTube Ads.

Too often I’ve seen people try & fail with YouTube Ads by just plainly targeting way too narrow.

If you try to run your ads to just one keyword or on just one YouTube video…

Your ads aren’t going to work.

At all.

Now this may seem like ‘the basics’ to many of you reading but believe me, even if you don’t think you’re doing this you may very well be.

And if you’re sitting there thinking, “My targeting is already wide enough.” That’s great… but you’re still missing half of the equation.

You see the key here is to make sure that you…

Cast a Wide Net, then Narrow Down.

Let’s say this target is your market.

And the darts are your ads.

If you throw just one dart at the board, you don’t know where it’s going to land.


If you throw 10 darts at the board…

Yes, A few will completely miss. And sure, some will land on the rims.


A couple will hit the bullseye.

These are the ads you want to narrow in on. These are your Winning Ads.

And the next time you throw ten darts…

…you’ll hit the bullseye EVERY TIME.
