A friend recently asked me how to quickly build a value-driven organic social media strategy. I offered to map it all out for him, and I want to give it to you as well!

𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼: The first step is to Create a Weekly 7–15 minute YouTube Video sharing your expertise — this will be the foundation of your entire Content Repurposing Strategy.

How do you create a YouTube Video?

First, come up with different topics of videos you can record & film.

An easy way to do this is by looking at all the common questions your ideal clients have on sales calls, your current clients have on coaching calls & by using a tool like AnswerThePublic to see what questions your ideal clients are asking online.

Once you’ve brainstormed a few ideas — start to turn those into YouTube Titles.

For instance, if I wanted to make a video about my YouTube Content Repurposing Framework, I would likely write down the title: “The YouTube Content Repurposing Framework — How to Turn One Video into 3 Dozen Pieces of Content”

Then look at the titles you created — which of these appear to be a compelling YouTube video? Put yourself in the mind of your ideal client & ask yourself which you would click on & watch.

Once you’ve come up with the topic you have 2 options (depending on your style)

- Write a Script

OR

- Film the Video from Intuition

Depending on your style, you may want to write out a full YouTube video script & then load that into a teleprompter (there’s some great ones on Amazon & even teleprompter apps for iPads & iPhones)

Or you may want to film the video naturally from Intuition — especially if you’re used to Coaching Live, just pretend you’re coaching on a specific topic to someone & speak directly at the camera sharing your expertise around the subject!

Usually what I’ll do is a bit of a hybrid, I’ll come up with the YouTube Title & some bullet points of what I want to hit & then I’ll do the video content itself from Intuition!

In terms of filming the video you’ll want to find an area where you can record that feels natural to you, I usually film in my office (even though I have a greenscreen film studio) as I’ve found the office itself feels more natural & authentic!

You can use a professional camera — or you can get a Tripod & setup your iPhone (those cameras have 4K lenses these days!) and remember you can also use a Teleprompter app to help you out as well if needed!

Once you’ve filmed the video I’d recommend editing using DeScript — it’s an AI video editing software than anyone can learn & use — you can easily remove filler words & edit the video using the transcript (instead of via the video) — this makes it easy & quick to do!

𝟮. 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲

The next step is publishing your long-form video directly on YouTube! You’ll want to use that Title & then use a tool like Canva to create a compelling thumbnail — there are a lot of great templates on there you can use (the thumbnail is important).

In the description of the video make sure to put your Call to Action (link to your funnel / call) right at the top of the description & as a pinned comment for easy access!

YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine so the beauty here is that once you publish your video it will be indexed on YouTube so people searching far into the future will potentially discover your content & value!

𝟯. (𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹) 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼

You’ve already got the long-form video, so if you want you can cross-post that on other social media platforms!

This is a bit more optional & I don’t always do this — however it is a good way to get some additional content you can share on different platforms!

You can take that same video & post long form content on platforms like:

- LinkedIn

- Facebook (Groups or Page recommended for this vs. Personal)

- IGTV

- Twitter

^ These platforms aren’t as robust as YouTube for video, however they all have the capability to post long-form content & help it get a wider reach!

𝟰. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗜

The next step is where things get exciting! You can use AI & a tool called Opus Clip to turn that long-form YouTube video into a dozen short-form clips!

Opus is a great tool (I’ve personally tested about half a dozen of these) and it makes it very easy & seamless to create multiple short-form pieces of content from one YouTube video & have it look great — even adding in captions & B-Roll!

This will give you enough content for DAILY Short Form Videos on All Shorts Platforms

- YouTube Shorts

- Instagram Reels

- Facebook Reels (Personal & Page)

- TikTok Reels

- & Now even Twitter & LinkedIn are starting to encourage Shorts too!

Pro Tip — With YouTube Shorts you can select “Related Video” and actually link your Long Form video to the Shorts so that it pops up at the bottom of the short — we’ve found this can drive additional viewership to your short form content!

I’d recommend doing these at least once per day — which you’ll get from repurposing your original YouTube video!

𝟱. 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿

The next step is to repurpose this content for your Email Newsletter!

My strategy is to either start by writing an Email Newsletter & have that be the script for a YouTube video OR start with the YouTube Video & then take the transcript of the video & turn that into an Email Newsletter.

If I start with the YouTube Video (lets say I did it from intuition), I can use Descript to grab the transcript of the YouTube Video & then run it through Claude AI to turn that into a draft of an Email Newsletter in my voice & style (using the project settings & samples of my writing)

I can then take that rough draft of the Video Transcript turned Newsletter Outline & then apply my own writing to that to make it my own & polish it up and get it ready to send out as an email newsletter!

I also make sure to include a link to the full YouTube Video in every email newsletter as well!

I’d say about ½ of my videos actually start in me typing out a Newsletter from scratch & then turning that into a script for a YouTube Video & the other ½ start as a YouTube video & then turning that into a Newsletter. They feed each other!

I personally use the BeeHiiv platform since it’s easy, cheap & fast to setup, that said ConvertKit is a much more robust & powerful option that I would definitely recommend if the Newsletter is a primary focus!

𝟲. 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁 + 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀

The Final Piece of the YouTube Content Repurposing Strategy is to repurpose as Text + Image Posts on different social media platforms!

I usually take the Email Newsletter & then adapt it slightly to fit the different platforms I want to post on — if you’re wondering how I get bold text, I use a tool called YayText to convert to bold text that works on most social platforms.

Then I usually grab an image that represents the post or I just grab an image of myself (honestly that seems to work quite well, haha) to go along with the post.

And then I post EVERYWHERE!

- Facebook Personal
- Facebook Page

- Facebook Group

- LinkedIn Personal (Article and/or Post)

- Repost to LinkedIn Business Page

- Instagram

- Twitter

- Medium (I’ve found this indexes well on Google — Pro Tip)

- My Website Blog

- Even YouTube now has a “Post” feature that works Great!

7. Celebrate! 🎉

You’ve just turned one YouTube video into 3 Dozen Different Pieces of Content you can share across all social media in a fraction of the time!

The key here is CONSISTENCY — the more you do this, the more you’ll grow your following by consistently posting & sharing your expertise on every platform in different mediums!

And when you have a Content Repurposing Framework — everything is much more efficient!

Hope you found this valuable & feel free to share this with anyone who needs it!
