What’s the End Goal for your Advertising?

CPM, CPC, CPA, CP-XYZ…What’s right for you?

We’re focused on CPA.

Cost per acquisition, as in acquiring a customer… or cost per application, if we’ve built an application funnel.

Because that’s as close to the bottom line as we can get.

The goal is probably NOT to have a lot of leads coming in at a low cost. The goal is one or two steps beyond that. At the end of the day, we’re focused on making a lot of sales right?

So that being said, we track CPA…

And there’s also one more thing we track, which I think a lot of advertisers and media buyers and agencies don’t do.

We track lead QUALITY.

We actually have a rating system. It’s internal to our team, AND we help clients out with it as well. We use it to rate the quality of our applications. So if we’re getting really good apps from a certain place, we want to redouble our efforts there.

This is VERY important.

Salespeople have got to eat… we can’t just hand them awful apps and expect them to close.

I also don’t know of anyone who has a similar rating system. Ours is pretty unique.

Anyway, at the same time continue to circle back to our original focus, which is CPA.

How much are we paying for these quality applications?

Too much and it becomes prohibitive.

Keeping the quality high and the cost low — that’s the name of the game.

Youtube ads are one of the best ways to do it. They tend to outperform Facebook ads in almost every important metric.
